Final presentation Day 1

Day 1 

Presentation 1:                                                                

1. What island or countries were discussed in the presentation? Anguilla
2. What did you learn? How is Anguilla influenced by the Culture? Festival called “grand of truth”, its every other month. Every day activity impacts Anguilla’s culture and they have other cultures involved with the food and stuff. There famous for their art gallery.
3. What would you have liked to know or ask given time? What’s the festival for.
4. What worked best for the presenters? She knew what she was talking about and she had an answer for all the questions being asked. She had an interesting video.
5. What should presenters not do? Not read straight from the board. Make eye contact.
6.   And whatever else you would like to say? She did a good job on her presentation

Presentation 2:

1.  What island or countries were discussed in the presentation? Costa Rica
2.   What did you learn? One of the top 50 contents that’s financially fine. The rainforest is one of the main attractions for tourism. They have coffee plantations. Only 3% of people living here have ancestors which were slaves. The population in Costa Rica is decreasing. In costa Rica the kids don’t leave their families house until 30 or 40 because they want to leave with good income.
3.  What would you have liked to know or ask given time? What kind of animals do they have there?
4.  What worked best for the presenters? He had a lot of information on his topics and explained everything exquisite.

Presentation 3:

1.)  What island or countries were discussed in the presentation? Haiti

2.)  What did you learn? Haiti was posses by Spanish and French. Only countries who is independent. Papa doc, Tontons Macoutes terrorize people and went to people houses and burned them just to show they had power. By age 8 children start working.

3.)  What would you have liked to know or ask given time? She should’ve not only talked about the bad that happened but also about the good. How will. I. am restored light.

4.)  What worked best for the presenters? She knew some of their history and all the evil things.

5.)  What should presenters not do? Not read straight from the computer and should’ve had more pictures.

Presentation 6:

1. What island or countries were discussed in the presentation? Dominican Republic
2.  What did you learn? Race caused the people in Dominican Republic to feel like they have no racial identity. Dominicans don’t see themselves as people with color. The color on your skin was something that mattered the most in D.R.
3. What would you have liked to know or ask given time? I would’ve liked to know more the topic in general because it’s extremely serious. She should’ve included how Dominican Republic is too dangerous for tourists.
4.  What worked best for the presenters? Her topic was a good one because that’s still going on in D.R.

6. And whatever else you would like to say? Her presentation was extremely interesting because this issue was something I did not know till I had this class. It’s sad that Dominicans truly believe that they don’t have African ancestry.
